Sparkill, NY
This Center Hall Colonial home, in a newly developed neighborhood in Sparkill NY had good bones and structure but was in dire need need of personalization and softening. The timeless elegance of a Cottage Garden was the design solution to the creation of outdoor rooms for the family of four. The builder basic hardscapes were replaced with whimsical, native stone walkways, steps and landings. Architectural elements such as trellises and cedar wood screens provided the perfect transition from one area of the landscape to the next while creating subtle screening from neighboring homes. Well-developed perennial gardens with soft palettes of whites, purples and fresh greens, playfully intermingle with the structure of evergreen shrubs and tumbling roses. There is always something in bloom from March to November.
